ezs note:  When I read about Thurmond, I had to give a tip of the hat to them.  No, it wasn't to their tiny, tiny, tiny population (five!)  but to their wonderfully progressive attitude barring discrimination to LGBTQ folks.  Needless to say, Thurmond is in danger of becoming extinct.  If you have a hardy soul, consider Thurmond as a place you can rebuild.
