ezs note:  When we hear of treaties being broken time after time with Native Americans, it is indeed sad.  Not so with the town of Fredericksburg, Texas.  John O. Meusebach (formerly Baron Otfried Hans von Meusebach) arranged a treaty between his people and the Penateka Native Americans in 1847 - and it has lasted to this day.

Peace.  Gee, what an amazing concept.  We ought to try it sometime.
