On the 41st anniversary of the Stonewall uprising (the touchstone for the gay civil-rights movement), the US Department of Housing and Urban Development (Hud) announced new measures providing increased protection to lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people in the rental, sale and financing of housing.
