Well.

After Pope Francis was laid to rest, over a billion Catholics - and just as many interested non-Catholics - were buzzing about, wondering who the next Pope would be.

Who would have guessed that his childhood would be spent in Dolton, Illinois???

Well... the cardinals did have some idea.  When Donald Trump was elected to the presidency in 2024, his was a presidency by fiat.  No matter how people grumbled, (and believe me, I did) our voices were those in the wilderness.  

Then came Leo XIV.

Before Leo, JD Vance (Trump's veep) was arguably the boss of bosses.  Well, not any more.  He isn't even a part-time mail room boy any more.  When Leo talks, Catholics listen.  Especially when he was born in Chi-town!

It's only a day now. We have yet to see.  But whether you're a practicing Catholic or a popcorn-eating observer, this could be very  interesting. 😄
