ezs note: You know what... good! There are members of the U.S. House and Senate who have run and won their seat for the first race ever, Democrats and Republicans alike. They have served well. There is no reason why she should not run. She has served admirably in the elite force of the Navy, and, should she win, she will serve admirably in the House.
